And man does he know how to put together a process flow diagram or ERD in Miro. I can honestly say this focus on design enhanced my own skills as a product manager.

I had the opportunity to work directly with Tom for over 4 years. He is an empathetic leader. Coaching and mentoring engineers comes natural to him. He is a strong technical leader with a big emphasis on software architecture and documentation. While he managed several engineers and helped their career advancement, he was also technically competent to write code(.NET, C#, Java/Kotlin with Android) when needed. He is passionate about solving problems the simple way first, learn from it, iterate and build more features on top of it. "Fail fast" was a mantra he constantly encouraged his teams to do; meaning, lets put a software out there for customers so they can start using them, gather feedback and improve the user experience later. Under his able leadership, my team delivered several successful projects in a timely manner with very high quality. Tom often spent a lot of time code reviews and offered suggestions on how we could improve code quality and ensure the services are scalable and reliable. I learnt quite a bit of software architecture while working with him.

He is extremely social and makes work to be a fun and learning experience. He is well respected among his peers and would be an incredible Leader/Manager/Architect to any organization.
